What is it?
The Leading Change Cohort is an intensive 2-week virtual experience for high-performing administrators desiring to grow as leaders, support teachers, and influence learning culture. With a coach and a community and of collaborators, you will focus on frameworks and strategies for complex change within your schools and organizations.
There will be thought and work concentrating on:
- Developing your capacity to lead complex change
- Leading instructional improvement
- Building collective efficacy in your culture
Who is it for?
This is for superintendents, curriculum directors, principals, and teachers ready to move toward changing learning environments for their students and communities.
Each cohort is limited to 10 participants.
When is it?
The two-week experience will begin June 17, 2019, and end July 2nd. Group meetings are on Mondays and Wednesdays.
How does it work?
The coaching and collaboration will be facilitated using Zoom video-conferencing, Google Applications, and forums. We will be using the type of tools your students can be using in your schools. Once you are registered, you will receive your starter kit via mail in June.
Online groups sessions, curated resources, and small projects will drive the learning in this course. You will be involved in :
- Five video conference groups sessions (Mondays and Wednesdays)
- Curated Resources
- Strategic frameworks and projects
- Two personal Sessions
- Collaborative forums
How is this different from day-trainings or conferences?
Conferences and trainings are great ways to be introduced to declarative knowledge, new ideas, and basic skills. Engaging with a coach and a community over a longer period of time helps push knowledge into practice.
If you are looking for more than learning Hyperdocs or hearing the latest motivational speech, this is for you.
Who is coaching this experience?
The coach for this experience is Yancy Unger. Yancy has been working with school leaders accomplishing systemic change for the past ten years. While at the Indiana Department of Education, Yancy worked with schools shrinking the gap between pedagogy and technology. Working with hundreds of schools, he has identified bright spots and lynchpins for successful change and how to navigate organizational psychology. Yancy recently took a sabbatical to return to the classroom this past school year to reconnect to the focus of his work: the students.
What is the investment?
The course cost is $772.
The course is also an investment of your time and returns valuable resources, frameworks, community, and personal coaching.
(You might be able to have your school reimburse this using professional development funds such as Title IIA.)
